Speaking of the next challenge it seems like Emma might be that challenge, Last week on Smackdown she interrupted your interview and seemed to have taken aim. What are your thoughts?
I can honestly say that I had tears throughout the entire match for the WWE women’s championship at Wrestlemania. Not only does the new belt look amazing and stand for so much more, the three women that were fighting for it were beyond deserving and so inspiring.
Growing up, the only type of “diva” match that was pushed upon audiences were those that were degrading such as bikini or lingerie matches and pillow fights. It made me feel as though this is what I had to do or look like in order to be considered a diva within the WWE. And like Sasha said, a lot of people saw these segments or matches as “bathroom breaks” which is incredibly sad. But now, we have matches like the one last night between those three women that keep us on the edge of our seats to look forward to.
I am beyond proud that Sasha, Becky and Charlotte have contributed so much to the new wave of female talent and have made it as far as they have. They have proven that you don’t have to rely on looks and have instead shown us that character, power, strength and ability are whats really important. They are what the division has needed for the longest time.
I know women that fought for this movement in the past and present such as Lita, AJ Lee, Chyna, Madusa, Luna and many more would be insanely proud of these three like all of us.
Even if they never see this, I just want to thank them for everything they have done and what they stand for. They fought and earned their way to the top and are so incredibly inspiring to the next generation of female talent. By far, this was my favorite match of the night, and I know that these and the other talent of NXT will continue to advance and empower the division that deserves it the most.
